How To Use Low Libido Essential Oils To Put the Spring Back in your Step

A low sex drive is a common and often hidden problem in the modern world. Sex is a natural part of life and is good for your body and your romantic relationship. Often, sex drive becomes low, creating problems in your relationship and confidence. One of the key reasons for your low libido is hormone imbalances and correcting them isn’t easy. The medications used to address this problem are usually harsh and have unpleasant side effects. There may be an easier way to solve this with low libido essential oils.

How do Essential Oils Work?

An image of 5 glass bottles of different shapes and sizes containing essential oilsEssential oils aren’t a miracle cure and they don’t work for everyone. When you decide to try low libido essential oils, you will have to do some experimenting to determine what works for your body. One of the biggest benefits of essential oils is that they’re completely natural. The oils are extracted from fruits, herbs, and plants and can be absorbed straight through your skin and into your bloodstream. Essential oils also stimulate your olfactory senses, which is incredibly powerful for creating mood and stimulating memory.

Using essential oils can support your body and help it heal without causing the harsh side effects of certain medications. They’re non-toxic, natural, and gentle, so they can help reduce your body’s toxic load and encourage natural healing and optimum functioning.

Here are just some of the effects of essential oils:

  • Increase blood circulation
  • Enhance a specific mood
  • Stimulate your hormones
  • Encourage mental calm
  • Improve male stamina
  • Boost the libido in men and women
  • Prompt feelings of intimacy and closeness
  • Stimulate specific parts of the body
  • Create a specific mood or atmosphere

These low libido essential oils can be quite powerful, so be careful that you use them only as directed.

Why Low Libido Essential Oils Work?

A healthy sex drive can enhance your life in several ways. It helps build intimacy with your partner, feels good, and is life-affirming. But when you have a low libido it can start to feel like a chore. Instead of making you feel happy and connected to your partner, it can drive you apart and leave you feeling resentful.

Essential oils have pleasing smells that affect the limbic brain, which hold the brain’s pleasure centers. These low libido essential oils also stimulate the pituitary gland. The pituitary gland produces many hormones that are essential for a healthy sex drive. So, if you have a low libido, it may be because this part of your brain isn’t functioning at its best, leaving you with unbalanced hormones and a low sex drive. Low libido essential oils are a safe, effective, and gentle way to correct these imbalances and start enjoying sex again.

Why is your Libido Low?

Low libido can occur due to many reasons like tiredness or overwork. You may have unresolved problems in your relationship that are harming your connection. However, it could also be that your Hormonal Circuit is out of balance, which means that your body probably isn’t producing the hormones it needs to have a healthy sex drive.

An x-ray image of the human body showing the adrenalsYour Hormonal Circuit consists of the adrenals, the ovaries or testes, and the thyroid gland. It’s part of the NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) stress response, the system that activates when you experience stress. When you’re under stress, the NEM stress response causes changes throughout your body. These changes are designed to protect your body and to prepare to respond to a threat. This is a natural, normal response to stress. But when you’re chronically stressed, these mechanisms can start to break down.

Chronic stress is very common in the modern world. When you’re chronically stressed, your body needs ongoing high levels of cortisol in order to cope. Cortisol is produced by your adrenals and is often known as the stress hormone. When stress is temporary, your cortisol levels will rise and then drop when the stressful period is over. But when you’re chronically stressed, the adrenal glands can become fatigued and start to break down, resulting in Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFS). This is a chronic condition that can cause malfunctions and dysregulation in all of your body’s circuits, including the Hormonal Circuit.

A Low Libido and the Hormonal Circuit

When you’re stressed, your body thinks it’s under threat. In this kind of situation, your sex drive isn’t a high priority. During stressful events, your body prioritizes essential systems that will help you survive. As a result, non-essential systems slow down or shut down completely, including your libido.

Your libido is driven by a careful balance of testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. When these hormones are in the right balance, your libido will be at its normal level. But when you’re under chronic stress, your body will decrease its production and save energy for essential functions. And this situation becomes worse when you have AFS and Hormonal Circuit malfunctions.

As AFS progresses, the declining health of the adrenals will also affect the health and functioning of the thyroid and the ovaries or testes. This worsens any hormonal imbalances you’re already experiencing due to stress. The result is often a chronic low libido as well as other hormonal problems.

Given that this is not good, both for your health and for your relationship, it’s important that you seek out strategies that can help such as low libido essential oils.

Effective and Gentle Low Libido Essential Oils

There are several effective low libido essential oils that you can try. Just remember that these oils can be quite powerful, so be cautious and never apply them directly to the skin unless advised by a medical professional. Be cautious if you use these oils when you have AFS as well, as your overly sensitive body may react badly to the new stimuli. Always seek out advice from a medical professional who’s aware of your condition before making any major changes.

Here are some of the most effective low libido essential oils:

Ylang Ylang

An image of Ylang Ylang flowers and essential oilThis essential oil has an appealing floral scent and is often used as an aphrodisiac. It can be used with a carrier oil to create a massage oil, inhaled, or put into a diffuser.

Rose

This has a calming scent that is best used as a perfume or room diffuser.

Clary Sage

Clary sage can act as an anti-depressant on menopausal women, so it may enhance your sex drive by balancing your hormones. It’s best inhaled or used in a diffuser.

Jasmine

This scent increases alertness and can make you feel refreshed. It’s fairly pricey, so it is best used sparingly in massage oil or perfume.

Neroli

This oil can help if your low libido is caused by hormonal imbalances. It helps to increase the sex drive, reduce blood pressure, and relieve symptoms of menopause. It’s made from orange blossoms and can be inhaled or put into a diffuser.

Fennel

Some low libido essential oils like fennel act like estrogen in the body. Fennel has been known to prompt menstruation, help with childbirth, and enhance female climax. It can be used in a massage blend or in a diffuser.

Palmarosa

This has an exotic smell that does well when mixed with ylang-ylang.

Amyris

This oil can boost your mood and sexual tension. It also blends well with other oils like ylang-ylang.

Peppermint

This lovely smelling oil wakes you up and improves your mood, both of which are great for the libido.

Ginger

Geranium

This oil increases blood flow and inspires warm feelings of love, loyalty, and lust. It’s a great oil to use if the emotional connection is missing from your sex life.

Sandalwood

This oil boosts sexual arousal and it will make your skin smoother at the same time.

Essential Oil Combinations

One of the most effective ways to use these low libido essential oils is to combine them to make aromatic blends that can be put into a diffuser or into a carrier oil and used in massage. If applying to the skin, make sure you check the directions for the individual oils to find the ratio of carrier oil to essential oils. Unfortunately, most essential oils can’t be applied directly to the skin. So, you must get the ratio of carrier to essential oils right or you could end up burning your skin, which definitely won’t help with your libido.

Here’s how to use these blends:

In a Diffuser

  • Two drops each of neroli, jasmine, and ylang-ylang.
  • 2 drops Neroli and Lavender with 1 drop Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang.
  • 3 drops Ylang Ylang, 2 drops Palmarosa and 1 drop of Patchouli.

On Pulse Points

  • Put 6 drops Jasmine, Rose, and Ylang Ylang oils in a 10ml glass rollerball bottle and filled with carrier oil of choice. This can be applied to the pulse points for a lovely smell.
  • 11 drops of Lavender, 8 drops Jasmine, and 3 drops of Peppermint topped off with a carrier oil.
  • 7 drops of Geranium, 6 of Amyris, and 4 of Neroli in a rollerball bottle with carrier oil.

Massage Oil

  • 2 drops of Sandalwood and Wild Orange and 1 drop of Cinnamon oil added to 1 teaspoon coconut oil.

Bath Blend

  • 2 drops Clary sage and Geranium and 1 drop Ylang Ylang added to ¼ cup of Epsom salts in the bath.
