Adrenal Fatigue Diet - Mild Buffalo Chicken Soup

Make sure you get the freshest herbs and spices whether they are fresh or dried. Their active compounds degrade with time. Polyphenols are the plant compounds that provide the main health benefits. Some herbs and spices have antibacterial and antiviral properties that curb inflammation very pronounced in the adrenal fatigue sufferers.

If you prefer the soup to be spicier, you can add more chili. The hotter the pepper, the higher the concentration of the substance called capsaicin, which has been shown to relieve pain and fight inflammation. Dill may help to neutralize some carcinogens, and it is high in iron and calcium. Natural herbs are a delicious way to add powerful nutrients to your adrenal fatigue dietRaw parsley and cilantro is loaded with vitamin C. Cilantro happens to be high in iron also and contain so many phytonutrients to help fight disease. Garlic has anti-cancer, cold prevention and heart health benefits. Make sure you let the chopped garlic sit for 10-15 minutes to release the protective phytochemicals. The capsaicin of paprika has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Vitamin C in the body can be boosted by the phytochemicals in onions, thereby improved immunity. Folate found in onions may help improve sleep and mood, which is quite needed by many who suffer from adrenal fatigue.

Ingredients A:

  • 1 head of cauliflower, chopped
  • 8 cups water
  • 3 tbsp Better Than Chicken Soup Base
  • 2 tbsp agave nectar

Ingredients B:

  • 1 tsp crushed red chili
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp fresh garlic
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • ½ cup coconut milk

Ingredients C:

  • 2 tbsp oil - stir fry
  • 3 stalks of celery - chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1½ tsp tomato paste

Ingredients D:

  • 2 organic chicken breast – cut in small cubes
  • ½ tbsp fresh parsley
  • ½ tbsp chives
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro

Garnish:
Cilantro sprigs

 
Method:

  1. Using a large stockpot, add Ingredients A.
  2. Bring to a boil and reduce heat.
  3. Add Ingredients B.
  4. Put everything from step 1 and step 3 into a blender or Vitamix and puree.
  5. Pour back into the stockpot and simmer.
  6. In a separate frying pan, add Ingredients C and stir-fry until onion became opaque.
  7. Pour into the stockpot, bring to boil, simmer for 15 minutes.
  8. Stir in Ingredients D and simmer for 10 minutes.
  9. Spoon the soup into soup bowl, garnish with cilantro sprigs.
