Supplements for Epstein-Barr Virus

An image of four different bottles of Epstein Barr supplements tipped overDid you know there is aF secret pandemic across the globe that nobody is talking about? What if you were told that about 225 million Americans have some form of this condition? Many of the health issues going around could be the result of a single virus? The Epstein-Barr virus may be responsible for myriad health issues, and what is more, conventional medicine has thus far found no medications or inoculations that can kill it. But supplements for Epstein-Barr virus may very well suppress this virus and even help alleviate some of its symptoms.

The Epstein-Barr Virus

The Epstein-Barr virus is usually referred to as the human herpesvirus 4. In other words, it is a member of the herpes virus family. The virus spreads by means of bodily fluids, i.e. saliva, during sexual intercourse, and blood. This means that the virus spreads around relatively easily. Blood for blood transfusions does not get tested for this virus, and, even though you may not engage in unprotected sex, something as innocuous as kissing means you can either spread it or get infected with it, without even knowing. Mothers can also carry the virus over to their babies.

What is more, medical science has linked the Epstein-Barr virus to many health issues that seem totally unrelated. Amongst these, they include mononucleosis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, fibromyalgia, vertigo, thyroid disease, and many others.

The virus, first discovered in 1964, has been around for at least fifty years before that. Although you could contract the virus at any stage of your life, the symptoms, usually appear later in life and are relatively mild. Many people still only show mild symptoms, although much more aggressive strains have developed. Remember, all viruses evolve over time with new strains developing.

Stages Of The Epstein-Barr Infection

The good news is that if you have an Epstein-Barr infection it does not mean that you will infect people all the time. An infection has four stages.

Stage 1

The virus, once in your body, goes through a dormant stage. This stage sees it slowly building up its numbers. If you are healthy, nothing really manifests.

If, however, you go through a period of physical exhaustion or hormonal upheavals like during menopause or puberty, the virus may launch a direct infection that has various symptoms. These symptoms include fatigue, aches and pains of unknown origin, and even depression.

The reason the virus strikes at this time is because of your hormones. You see, physical exhaustion or stress for whatever reason sees a rise in your stress hormones. At the same time, the physical changes your body undergoes during puberty, menopause, or even the process of giving birth, also affect your bodyā€™s hormonal component, causing a state of imbalance. The Epstein-Barr virus feeds on the abundance of hormones and then manifests as various health issues.

Your body can be in stage one for a few weeks or a few years. Each person is affected differently. Medical science also does not detect the virus during this initial stage because there are no symptoms showing towards any specific health issue.

Stage 2

An image of an Epstein-Barr virus during mononucleosis stageDuring stage 2 the virus presents itself as mononucleosis. This is also the time when it is at its most contagious. Your immune system becomes aware of the virus and springs into action. Symptoms associated with this stage include fatigue, headaches, enlarged lymph nodes, skin rashes, fever, and even a mildly sore throat. The symptoms may last a few days or a few months.

Labs at this stage would, most of the time, show the virus as a form of mononucleosis.

This period also makes you more susceptible to a Streptococcus infection. This bacterial strain has its own set of symptoms that, due to the presence of the Epstein-Barr virus, could travel to or infect your sinuses, vagina, kidneys, urinary tract, and bladder.

Stage 3

This stage sees the virus firmly entrenched in various organs like the liver and spleen. Labs would show up a past infection, i.e. mononucleosis. The Epstein-Barr virus would, however, not show up as active in your bloodstream.

Once the virus is in your organs, it goes undetected. Your immune response also goes back to normal. You may seem perfectly healthy. The virus, however, is only dormant. It could also, during this time, cause inflammation in the organs it is abiding in that result in various health issues.

Health issues associated with this stage of Epstein-Barr virus infection include:

  • A false diagnosis of Lyme disease due to the action of viral byproducts and waste matter
  • Fatigue due to toxins released when older virus cells die off
  • Nerve function disruption and a confused immune system resulting from the toxins mentioned
  • Compromised liver function due to inflammation and an increased toxic load
  • Hepatitis C
  • Stomach issues like bloating or constipation
  • Food sensitivities
  • Lupus, which may be a reaction to the byproducts and neurotoxins associated with this stage
  • Thyroid disorders such as Gravesā€™ disease, Hashimotoā€™s, thyroid cancer, and hypothyroidism

Stage 4

Stage 4 of this infection is an attack on your central nervous system. Your immune system, which should address this attack, may be compromised due to fighting off the possible health issues previously mentioned. Conventional medicine may not realize the root cause of your new symptoms.

Examples of the diverse range of symptoms associated with a stage 4 Epstein-Barr infection includes:

  • Joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Back pain
  • Migraines
  • Fatigue
  • Sleep issues
  • Night sweats
  • Heart palpitations
  • Depression
  • Hair loss
  • Anxiety
  • Hot flashes
  • Asthma
  • Chest pains

People are often diagnosed with other diverse health issues like perimenopause, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, Meniereā€™s disease, vertigo, and chronic fatigue syndrome, to name but a few.
