Strong Personality Traits for Stress Management and Adrenal Fatigue Recovery

Woman with strong personality traitsConstant worry and anxiety can have a profound effect on your life and your health. According to research from Purdue University, people whose traits include constant worrying often die younger than those whose personalities are more suited to dealing with stress better. People who don't deal with stress well often have habits that are bad for their health, including smoking and drinking. However, people who have strong personality traits usually deal better with stress and don't easily suffer stress related diseases or disorders such as Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency or Adrenal Fatigue .

People with strong personalities tend to be more self-confident and assertive in all aspects of their life, including when they deal with stress. Everyone has stress in their lives, whether money, family or their job causes it. However, the way one deals with stress often dictates what effect stress has on their lives. People who do have strong personalities are usually more self-aware and they have better ways of coping with stress.

People with strong personalities are usually more result oriented and they like to have control of situations affecting them. Rather than let a stressful situation control them, they take over and find a solution to resolve the problem. They don't sit passively by and worry about what to do. They take action because they are doers and not thinkers when problems arise.

They often welcome challenges in situations that most people would find stressful and try to avoid. They like to be tested and pushed, especially if they are well rewarded when the problem is resolved. Self-confident people know they can overcome challenges that most people shy away from. People with stronger personalities also tend to have more physical energy, so they can cope better with stress than most other people can.

Commitment is important to them as well. They are usually very involved with their jobs, their community, and in their home life. They don't let the little stresses of life get them down and dictate their lives. Instead, they tend to jump in and resolve the problems causing the stress, whether it is at home or on the job. When they do overcome these issues, it further builds their confidence. They are also looked up to as leaders because they do take on the problems and find solutions to them.

While there are people who seem to be born with strong personalities, these traits can be developed as well. Imitating others who are more assertive and more confident can often help you develop these desired traits.

Strong Personality Traits and Adrenal Fatigue

Developing strong personality traits will increase self confidence, emotional stability, and help you manage stress effectively. Learning coping techniques for stress is essential to living a balanced life. The NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) Stress ResponseSM comprises how the body responds to stressors in life. Stress can be of a positive or negative nature, and it can be physical or emotional. Chronic stress affects the entire body, and each of the body systems are uniquely affected. The adrenal glands are especially impacted by high levels of stress. If left unchecked, taxed adrenal glands are unable to produce significant amounts of cortisol, also known as the stress hormone, to handle the stress. The resulting imbalance in the adrenal glands leads to Adrenal Fatigue.

Lacking strong personality traits and Adrenal Fatigue riskAdrenal Fatigue is characterized as fatigue and lethargy with other symptoms like weight gain, inability to lose weight, memory problems, irritability, difficulty concentrating, allergies, and feeling anxious. There are many other symptoms related to Adrenal Fatigue and the longer the condition goes untreated the progressively worse the symptoms become. Living life constantly tired, overly stressed with body aches and pains, and often times depressed, causes a vicious cycle of pushing the body beyond it’s means and compromising health further.

Individuals without strong personality traits and prone to constant worry and anxiety are more at risk for Adrenal Fatigue. Stress related habits, like smoking, drinking, and poor diet worsens the Adrenal Fatigue.

The good news is the human body is incredibly resilient. Getting regular exercise, learning self-care and ways to nurture yourself, maintaining a positive attitude and eating a healthy diet are great ways to help the body heal itself. Cultivating strong personality traits will make a tremendous impact on health and overall well-being. There will always be stress in our lives, there is truly no way to avoid the struggles of life. However, developing strong personality traits allow individuals to deal this adversity in a positive manner.
