I see that many energy drinks have B-complex in them for energy. Is taking vitamin B a good way to get energy with AFS?
A B-complex vitamin does help to boost energy temporarily. That is why people use it as a stimulant, especially B12. But if you have advanced Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome, this may cause too much stimulation for your body, and can trigger adrenal crashes.
Are essential oils helpful when you have Adrenal Fatigue?
It depends on each person and the severity of their Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome. Essential oils can be beneficial to the overall AFS recovery program, especially for those with extracellular matrix congestion that needs to be cleansed and are in advance stages of AFS. Not everyone benefits, but many do.
Should I keep my adrenal fatigue supplements in the fridge? Will that help make them more effective?
Keeping the supplements in the fridge will preserve them longer, but should not affect their effectiveness.
If you could take time off of work for recovery, would you recommend it? Can it speed up recovery time?
In general, having more time to relax and rest would help to speed up the Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome recovery. However, unless you are really in advanced stages, we find that most people can keep a job and can do quite well as long as there is a comprehensive plan of recovery.
What's the best way to handle Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome and depression?
Depression can be due to neurotransmitter imbalance. This can be due to a wide variety of reasons, with Adrenal Fatigue being one of them. Cortisol, DHEA, testosterone and estrogen are all produced in the adrenals. Decreased levels of each of these hormones and reduced adrenal function have been linked to depression. It comes as no surprise that adrenal exhaustion is strongly associated with increased fears, anxiety, depression, brain fog and difficulties in concentrating. People with adrenal exhaustion often have less tolerance than they normally would and are more easily frustrated.
