How Curcumin Can Help In Adrenal Fatigue

Curcumin in turmeric is known to have anti-stress properties which can prove helpful in normalizing adrenal fatigue. Stress and fatigue are interrelated. Everyone experiences stress in the modern busy world which can lead to fatigue. However, if you frequently experience extreme fatigue with symptoms of insomnia, brain fog, difficulty in waking up, low energy levels, and anxiety then chances are high that you might have Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFS). AFS is caused by a dysfunction in how your body responds to stress.

Your body is equipped with a NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) Stress Response which is a complicated network of several organs and six circuits. When you are stressed, the NEM Stress Response sends signals to your adrenal glands to secrete the anti-stress hormones, cortisol.

However, consistent stress can overburden your adrenals. As a result, your body’s stress-fighting ability starts to diminish, leaving you feeling fatigued. In the process, the various systems of your body are also affected.

The natural restorative properties of turmeric help to heal and revive your systems thus reducing symptoms of adrenal fatigue. Having turmeric pudding for your breakfast or enjoying it for dessert can help to add curcumin to your diet, the source of these properties.

Here is how curcumin can help adrenal fatigue:

It helps fight stress. Curcumin helps to support the HPA axis by regulating the various activities of neurotransmitters. This axis is composed of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and adrenal gland, which work in coordination to regulate stress, digestion, and various hormone secretions.

It boosts your immune system. Those with AFS have a weaker immune system. Turmeric is a powerhouse of natural antioxidants that gives your immune system a great boost. Studies suggest that curcumin can function as an immunomodulatory agent which can help enhance the immune system and provide relief from various immune-related disorders such as arthritis, allergies, and asthma.

Inflammation and turmeric puddingIt can reduce inflammation. Being rich in antioxidants and high in anti-inflammatory properties, curcumin helps to reduce inflammation. This can lower the incidence of various disorders related to excess inflammation such as inflammatory bowel syndrome, heart disease, autoimmune disease, and cancer.

It is a gentle detoxer. In adrenal fatigue, the load of excess toxins released from intense detoxification can further aggravate symptoms. In such cases, when the body is weak, a gentle detox with turmeric can clean the system without causing an imbalance. It helps to cleanse the liver, detox blood, enhance circulation, reduce inflammation, and prevent internal blood clotting.

It improves your ability to produce hormones. Turmeric can provide relief from adrenal fatigue by enhancing the secretion of various hormones for the healthy functioning of vital organs. Curcumin can support healthy secretion of bile acids and strengthen the liver, reduce stress, induce better sleep, boost memory, and enhance metabolism.

Conclusion

Turmeric contains curcumin which exhibits profound health benefits. The bright yellow spice is rich in therapeutic properties. It is a natural antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-carcinogenic, anticoagulant, and antidepressant. The versatile restorative properties of turmeric make it a healthier way to address many health issues.

Adding turmeric to your diet along with regular exercise can help accelerate your adrenal fatigue recovery process. Having turmeric pudding is a delicious way of reaping the profound benefits of this healing spice. Turmeric powder can also be easily added to your food to make it both tastier and healthier. However, it is advisable to seek professional guidance if considering turmeric supplements or consuming in large quantities. Especially if you have advanced AFS, always consult with a health professional before making major changes.
