A Beginner’s Guide to EBOO Ozone Therapy

Our modern environment and lifestyle can leave many toxins in your body that may build up to potentially dangerous levels. One new potential answer to this is known as Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation or EBOO ozone therapy. If you’re interested in this safe, gentle, effective therapy to detoxify your body and reduce inflammation, then here’s what you need to know about it.

What Is EBOO Therapy?

An image of a EBOO machineThe modern world is full of pesticides, toxins, chemicals, and other hazardous substances. These can build up in your system, overwhelming your body’s detoxification processes and causing illness or disease.

Getting rid of all these toxins on your own isn’t always easy, but EBOO ozone therapy may be able to help the process. This is a type of dialysis that puts your blood through a filter that allows fats and blood proteins to pass through while stopping contaminants like:

  • Toxins
  • Chemicals
  • Pesticides
  • Fungi
  • Heavy metals
  • Germs

During this therapy, the blood is drawn out of one vein, filtered, and reintroduced into the body through another vein. When it goes through the filter the blood is ozonated, which means that it’s treated with ozone for additional purification. During the therapy, you’ll need to go through around four to five, 60-minute procedures, each of them spaced about a week apart.

The Benefits of EBOO

EBOO helps to purify the blood, riding it of toxins and contaminants. This process may:

  • Increase blood flow
  • Detoxify the body
  • Increase your energy levels
  • Improve cellular oxygen utilization
  • Reduce free radical levels
  • Pain relief
  • Activate an immune response so your body can kill dangerous bacteria, viruses, and fungi more efficiently
  • Improve cellular healing
  • Improve how oxygen is used in the cells to reduce ischemia in cardiovascular diseases
  • Release growth factors to help regenerate damaged joints
  • Eliminate fungi, bacteria, yeast, viruses, and protozoa
  • Reduce inflammation

What Can EBOO Help With?

EBOO ozone therapy can help with a range of health issues and problems including:

  • Killing viruses and bacteria
  • Neutralizing toxic substances
  • Reducing joint pain
  • Helping address inflammatory conditions like arthritis, nephritis, and others
  • Pain management
  • Helping address autoimmune disorders like MS and fibromyalgia
  • Improving the symptoms of peripheral artery disease
  • Cardiovascular diseases
  • Skin disorders
  • Eye diseases
  • Heavy metal poisoning
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Respiratory diseases
  • Tetanus
  • Fungal or yeast disorders
  • Diabetes
  • Herpes
  • Lyme disease
  • Chronic bladder conditions
  • Colitis
  • Chronic hepatitis

If you have any of these conditions, then it may be worth talking to your doctor about this therapy to discover if it’s right for you. However, you should never stop or avoid conventional therapies in favor of EBOO ozone therapy. Instead, it’s best used as a complementary therapy with your doctor’s supervision and guidance.

Is EBOO Safe?

EBOO ozone therapy is safe and has no side effects. However, it may cause minor irritation to the respiratory system if inhaled. Also, you should consult with your doctor first if you have certain conditions such as:

  • Photosensitivity
  • Acute or chronic bleeding tendencies

What to Do Before EBOO Ozone Therapy

An image of a woman talking with her doctorEBOO ozone therapy is fairly safe and usually causes no side effects. However, here are some ideas to help you get the most from the therapy:

  • Talk to your doctor first
  • Increase your water intake beforehand
  • Make sure you eat before your session
  • Tell your therapist about any medication allergies or recent changes
  • Do your research about the therapy first

This therapy should not impact your ability to do your job, drive, or perform your regular daily activities.

The Difference Between EBOO and Other Ozone Therapies

EBOO ozone therapy isn’t the only type of ozone therapy available. Ozone therapy is basically when ozone gas is administered to the body. There are three main forms of this therapy, which are:

Intramuscular

With this form of ozone therapy, the ozone is injected into the body or joint spaces, usually mixed with oxygen.

Directly to the Tissue

This form of the therapy is used to address a wound or issue with one of the body’s extremities. The ozone gas is applied directly to the affected body part. It can be insufflated rectally, vaginally, through the sinuses, bladder, or on the skin.

Intravenous Therapy

This is when the ozone gas is dissolved into the blood, which is then injected back into the body. This form of the therapy allows for whole-body effects.

EBOO therapy falls under this category. However, it’s also a little different from other forms of IV therapies. With EBOO therapy, at least half of the total volume of blood in your body is removed, ozonated, and purified. Other forms of this type of treatment usually ozonate a smaller amount of blood per session. This is important because the outcome is better when more blood is oxygenated.

Adrenal Fatigue and EBOO Therapy

EBOO ozone therapy may be able to help with a range of issues and problems that occur with Adrenal Fatigue Syndrome (AFS). AFS occurs when you’re chronically stressed, leading to the overuse of NeuroEndoMetabolic (NEM) stress response. The NEM stress response activates when you’re stressed and prompts the adrenal glands to release cortisol. The high cortisol levels cause changes to occur throughout the body’s six circuits of related organ systems, helping protect you from damage.

Usually, when the stress goes away, the NEM stress response shuts down and cortisol levels go back to normal. This allows the body’s circuits to go back to their normal duties and functioning. However, when you’re stressed over the long term, the NEM stress response remains active and cortisol levels stay high. This causes the body’s circuits to remain in a stressed state, which can cause malfunctions and imbalances. It can also cause the adrenal glands to become imbalanced and fatigued.

People with AFS often experience a range of symptoms and problems as the body’s circuits become imbalanced. Several of these may react well with EBOO ozone therapy including:

  • Blood sugar instabilities
  • Chronic inflammation
  • Cardiac issues
  • Immune system overactivation
  • General pain or joint and muscle pain
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Chronic or ongoing infections
  • Toxin build-ups

Adopting strategies to alleviate these issues will not only improve your health overall. It will also help to rebalance some of your body’s circuits, which is an essential step to AFS recovery.

The Inflammation Circuit in AFS

An image of inflammationWhen you have AFS and cortisol levels are high, it changes the way the Inflammation Circuit functions. The Inflammation Circuit includes the microbiome, the immune system, and the gut. It’s responsible for helping protect your body from damage by producing inflammation, which helps to expel intruders from your body. In this way, it’s an essential part of the healing process and of your body’s defenses.

When you have AFS, these functions begin to break down. The immune system goes into overdrive, trying to cope with all the stressors. Stressors in this context can be anything from poor food choices to lack of exercise, environmental toxins, and work pressures. The result of this overactivity is chronic inflammation, which is very damaging and linked to issues like heart disease and cancer.

Inflammation levels are also affected by the microbiome and the gut. The gut has a pivotal role in the immune system and in the creation of inflammation. When the gut becomes unhealthy because of AFS and Inflammation Circuit malfunctions, it can result in autoimmune disorders as well as gut problems like malabsorption of nutrients, constipation or diarrhea, and a leaky gut. This last one may allow toxins from the gut to pass back into the bloodstream.

The microbiome is also involved. The microbiome is the body’s balance of good and bad bacteria. When the Inflammation Circuit becomes unbalanced, bad bacteria can start to overgrow the good. This can result in ongoing infections, more inflammation, and gut problems.

EBOO therapy may help with these issues by:

  • Lowering inflammation
  • Decreasing pain
  • Helping to destroy viruses and bacteria, which will help rebalance the microbiome
  • Helping rid the body of toxins that pass back into the bloodstream

This type of therapy may also help improve the health and functioning of the Detoxification Circuit.

The Detoxification Circuit and Ozone Therapy

The Detoxification Circuit is one of the most important in the NEM stress response. It consists of the immune system, the liver, and the extracellular matrix (ECM), which is the fluid-filled spaces between the cells. These three components have separate duties and also work together to rid the body of metabolites, which are created as the body breaks down substances.

When this circuit becomes dysfunctional, the symptoms can be devastating. The liver starts to struggle to deactivate and expel metabolites, resulting in them being re-released into the body. They then build up in the ECM, which means that messaging between cells is impaired. This toxic build-up in the ECM also forces the immune system to activate, creating more inflammation in an attempt to expel the toxins.

This is obviously a very damaging situation. It will increase the overactivation of the immune system, creating more chronic inflammation. This in turn will create more metabolites, which will further clog the liver and be released back into the ECM. Over time, if this situation isn’t corrected, it can result in reduced functioning in all the components of the circuit as well.

EBOO ozone therapy may help reduce this circuit’s workload, allowing it time and space to heal and return to natural functioning. It may do this by helping expel some of the metabolites and toxins in the bloodstream, lowering the liver’s workload. This will lower the number of metabolites that the liver re-releases into the bloodstream and reduce the build-up in the ECM. This will in turn lower immune system activation and overall stress levels, helping to correct Detoxification Circuit dysfunctions and adrenal fatigue.

Considerations for Those With AFS

An image of a fatigued man sitting at his computerYou will need to be especially careful if you undergo EBOO therapy when you have AFS. As AFS progresses, it causes the body to become overly sensitive and fragile. You may find that your body reacts badly even to strategies that are designed to improve your health. Any change, even good changes, cause stress, and this is the last thing you need when your body is overloaded.

The way to avoid this is by working with an expert in adrenal fatigue and its effects on your body. They will be able to guide you on the best way to undergo therapies that improve your health rather than harm it.

The Takeaway

Health is complex and highly individual. The strategies and techniques that help to improve your health will not be the same as those that help other people. That’s where complementary therapies such as EBOO ozone therapy come in. This shouldn’t be used to replace conventional medical therapies, but it can be used to support better health and overall body wellness. Here’s what you need to know about it:

  1. Talk to your doctor about the therapy and find out if it’s right for you.
  2. Find a reputable provider to ensure that the therapy is performed correctly.
  3. Stop the therapy immediately if you notice any ill effects.
